We all have blogging habits, some are good and some are just damn stupid or stuck from when you started off. Roughly today I will have been blogging on and off for one year. Lets have a look at a few of my past habits and my present habits!
Past Habits:
- On the fly posting - This was actually up until pretty recently, I’d just post whenever I found something. This is possibly one of the worst habits you can get into. For instance I’d have six posts one day, one post the next day, no posts the day after and so on and so forth. Break this habit if your into it and that’s happening to you, use scheduled posting instead!
- Adverts Everywhere - At the start of blogging I had adverts all over the place! Ad optimization at its finest, just shove it in their face. I have currently don’t have any adverts, but when I decide to put some up you’ll see I have learnt from this!
- Bad Blog Design - This is always a way to stop users from frequently coming back to your blog.. Infact I remember my first design now. It was a default blogger theme changed to all black with white text and red links. First walk through Ken gave me too on changing a theme!
Present Habits:
- Irregular Weekend Posting - This one is probably my biggest problem at current, sometimes you see them sometimes you don’t. I should really just decide on if I will do weekend posts or not!
- Obsession with stats - This is my biggest time waster, I’m currently cutting down on the time I spend staring at my Mint screen though!
- Pictures for all posts - This isn’t that bad of a habit in my opinion as it makes the blog look a good deal more interesting however what is ridiculous is the fact that I will sometimes spend more time looking for a picture for an article than actually writing the article itself!
Overall I don’t think I’m doing too bad! Does anyone else care to share their blogging habits?
Digg it!
