The popular lightweight bittorrent client “Transmission” is now Ubuntu’s default client and is replacing the GNOME Bittorrent client that Ubuntu has used up to now! This change will be in full effect when Ubuntu 8.04 comes out which is expected in April 2008.
Transmission is available for all machines and operating systems except Microsoft Windows. It’s very like Ubuntu as it focus’s on being lightweight but includes all the features you need!
As the Transmission team themselves say:
Transmission is a fast, easy, and free multi-platform BitTorrent client with a focus on being lightweight yet feature-filled.
If your running Mac OSX or any linux distribution it’s worth checking out and you can find it here!

Music isn’t something I usually blog about, though at least 60% of my life is controlled at the moment by music. Just talking to a friend last night we got talking into the release of music via an online medium. He is in a band and is intending on releasing their next album online for free. Personally I think this is a great thing to do for any upcoming bands! Take a look at Harvey Danger and Lamount. Both bands I had never heard before, Harvey Danger has now become part of my “Favorites” playlist and I listen to it constantly, Lamount I also really enjoyed! Both have achieved major popularity and their music is now all around the world. New bands epically should consider releasing their music through an online medium, what do you have to loose? Your not going to make that much money in the first place! Ditch the record companies and start letting your music be heard all around the world, because at the end of the day that’s really what it’s about isn’t it?
