Bebo

Well it was bound to happen, but I’ve noticed more and more people deleting their Bebo accounts day by day. Guess its not so “cool” anymore hey? Having deleted mine ages ago I’m not surprised, I had seen this coming, all the “Do you have Bebo” talk kind of died down. Now I’m not saying everyone is going to delete their Bebo and it will go out of business, just kind of strange the way its lost its “cool” factor, I guess for a platform that doesn’t really bring in that many changes frequently what do you expect? I give it six months until the majority of people have stopped using it. Of course the die-hard people who spend their whole day on Bebo will still be there. Funny funny stuff..
Anyone got thoughts on this?

Buy Music on Bebo via iTunes

Apple has now decided to team up with Bebo to allow users to buy music directly from the artist’s page, via the iTunes store! This offer is currently only available to Bebo users in Ireland and UK but Apple intend on expanding it further if it is a success. It’s obvious here that Apple is trying to target the younger generation of fourteen - eighteen year olds, who obviously are the more limewire loving folk. Is Apple trying to convince teenagers to pay for music? Either way, via this new deal any band that is on Bebo that is already part of the iTunes catalog will be able to put an iTunes icon on their page and sell music through it.

This deal will be the first time that iTunes has ever teamed up with a social-networking website to sell music, however Bebo has 500,000 musicians registered on its website and around 4,000 bands expected to join every day can you imagine a better website for them to integrate with? It seems here that both parties will benefit from this deal, users will benefit too as Bebo will offer users a free music download each week to introduce new artists and albums. This idea obviously comes from iTunes “Single of the Week” promotion. The first free single will be “Youth of Today” by Amy McDonald.
