Already with 80 people registered CreativeCamp which takes place in Kilkenny on Saturday March 8th in the Parade tower at Kilkenny castle looks like its going to be another great camp held in Kilkenny. Podcamp which was held in the Ormonde hotel once again in Kilkenny turned out to be a brilliant event so you can expect the same from this one! You can sign up to register over here.

You can see all the talks over here, personally I’m looking forward to "The Art of Software Development" by Joe Drumgoole. Just because software development interests me but there is loads of talks on, for all tastes.

Either way check it out and I hope to see you there!

The website that sparked my thoughts on this is here. It’s a kinda Web 3.0 website, using this I have to admit I got hit by the immediate “this is quiet cool” thought, but after moving the Cow and trees around for a while I realised the whole thing is pointless. Which got me thinking into Web 3.0. With all the operating systems taking flashy over speed and everything just increasing in better design over usability will Web 3.0 be more usable than Web 2.0 or will it just be flashier? Do we really need the Internet having more pointless flash? I’d really like to see some other Web 3.0 proposals!

The founder and CEO of Netflix Reed Hastings said:

Web 1.0 was dial-up, 50K average bandwidth, Web 2.0 is an average 1 megabit of bandwidth and Web 3.0 will be 10 megabits of bandwidth all the time, which will be the full video Web, and that will feel like Web 3.0.

Going by that comment the answer to my question would be that the internet is going to take flashier over usability.

Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google has the answer I’m hoping web 3.0 to be:

Web 2.0 is a marketing term, and I think you’ve just invented Web 3.0.

But if I were to guess what Web 3.0 is, I would tell you that it’s a different way of building applications… My prediction would be that Web 3.0 will ultimately be seen as applications which are pieced together. There are a number of characteristics: the applications are relatively small, the data is in the cloud, the applications can run on any device, PC or mobile phone, the applications are very fast and they’re very customizable. Furthermore, the applications are distributed virally: literally by social networks, by email. You won’t go to the store and purchase them… That’s a very different application model than we’ve ever seen in computing.

Anyone got any thoughts on what they think Web 3.0 will be like, or even when?
