So I ordered 2gigs of RAM of “Komplett.ie” there two weeks ago.

The order went through, I got my email confirming my order number etc. etc.

I watched as the order changed to “processing”.

*POOF* Order Gone.

Checked with the credit card company, charge gone through. Odd I thought, so I sent them an email.

So far, its been 14 days and still no reply!

Their company number is even more of a disgrace. €0.15 a minute, and your only on the phone that one minute anyway.

“Welcome to Komplett. etc etc.”

“For customer Service press 1”

“For tech support press 2”

No matter WHAT I press, the line disconnects.. Leaving me in a loop of paying €0.15 a minute just to try get through to them! Frustrating to say the least!

According to “Boards.ie” Komplett are experiencing problems at the minute with a warehouse move. As well as the website going down the last few days and many products missing. Still you’d think they’d respond to their emails?

Update: 4:44pm – 23rd of April

After 14 days Komplett responded

Hello Sean,

Our sincerest apologies for the delayed response! At this stage the order will have been cancelled if you’ve still not received it. We went through a major systems change on the back end which lead to the cancellation of orders placed on the old system but not already shipped out. If you were already charged for the order, please let us know so we can correct this for you. If you weren’t and would still like to purchase the item(s), you’ve only to re-create the order. If you have problems logging in, your account was not able to be transferred from the old system to the new one, so just create a new account and you’ll be good to go.

Best,

Komplett.ie Service

Interesting Fact:
Today, it is “The Day of the Programmer”. Since yesterday this has been made an official Russian holiday!
The Russian president only made this yesterday as seen here..

The day of programmer will be noted on September 13 (in 256- y the day of year), if year is bissextile – on September 12.

What is Programmers Day?
Programmer’s day is a whimsical “holiday” on the 256th day of the year celebrated mostly by computer programmers (reason: 256 = 2 to the power of 8 = the number of values representable in a byte of data). Traditions include drinking, behaving silly, coding silly programs, mini computer games, playing with old computers, etc. Programmer’s day usually falls on September 13th; on leap years, it is September 12th.

Why the 256th Day of the year?
A byte can have 256 possible values, bytes are very important to programmers. Not because they are required for programs to work, but because the payroll system and Krispy Kreme doughnut cash registers require them.

Irish?
We need to get onto Brian Cowen to make an offical holiday out of this!

While reading over TorrentFreak and the whole did the Oink server database self-destruct or not, it really got me thinking on how simple it would be for these torrent website’s to protect their users! Database self-destruct. Its in-genius really, if your server connects up to another IP it auto self-destructs. Otherwise it has a set time for you to do a secret command on it or the database self-destructs. Even better if the database isn’t loaded in the correct way it self-destructs! Then the police have absolutely nothing on your website! Of course they would probably try to get you “done” for having an auto-self-destruct feature… Maybe an auto-self-destruct-database-replace [try say that five times fast..] Then again no user’s have ever gotten arrested yet as far as I can remember, but think ahead websites!
