Version 3.2 has now been released and you can download it here! Have to say I’m really impressed with Finbarr and the team on this release. I previously interviewed Finbarr Brady which you can read here, however on to what this release contains!
- A Send button - Works a charm, now when I click enter by mistake a message doesn’t send, unless of course I want it to then I can re-enable it in JSMSPreferences.
- Support for Section Dividers in Phone Book - You can now add little micro groups like “Friends” “Work” etc. and your numbers will be organized through this!
- Menubar - Now we have Copy/Cut/Paste options for those of you who don’t know the control keys off by heart! A tools menu, for managing the phone book and what not! And a help menu!
- Lastly, Update Checker - JSMS will now silently check if new releases are available! Handy to say the least! Updates can also be forced manually!
So go download it! Alot of work has obviously been put into this release, the only thing I feel JSMS needs now is a graphical phone book editor, instead of having to do everything via Notepad!

An interesting little thing I came across today is the whole internet on one page basically to quote from the webiste:
It’s a map of the entire Internet. At the moment we’re displaying the owner of each IP address (grey boxes), and which IP addresses are listed on the Spamhaus XBL blacklist (red dots), but we should be able to show other things in the future.
Can’t explain it better than that! Go check it out at The Whole Internet!

So yes, I dropped my very lovely Sony Ericsson k550i in the River Liffey on Saturday! Now I’m back to the k750i, my luck with phone’s isn’t that brilliant and that k550i had already been mugged off me and confiscated off me in school for trying to update Jaiku! So I guess that’s the end of that chapter! I’ll miss the high quality camera!
Moving on to what I actually meant to post about however is the complicated procedure I had to go through last night to get a Meteor Replacement Sim-card. Firstly I ring Meteor and they tell me I can head down to Extra-Vision and get a Sim-card there. So that I do! Walking down to extra-vision and getting €10 credit to get a free Meteor Sim-card. Ringing back Meteor customer care there is a “problem” with the sim-card and there must have been a mistake in the shop when handing it to me so I have to go and get another sim-card from Extra Vision. Getting back to the house after getting it replaced I’m told once again that the sim-card is invalid and asked where I bought it. I say extra-vision and the nice guy from Meteor on the other end, who was the only person who actually knew what he was talking about all night told me that I couldn’t buy a sim-card from Extra vision and that only the Meteor shop could sell me a replacement sim-card as a replacement sim-card was a sim-card that was blank!
So now I’ve just spent €10 on nothing. So like any good Irish person, I begin to complain. Firstly I used the “you guys fucked up on me card” which I didn’t expect to work that well. Usually you get an apology and that’s about that, then you have to move on to the manager but this time, it was strangely simple! I got the €10 refunded to me as credit. An apology and told that if I would get a sim-card free of charge in the meteor shop.
…shame.. I wanted an argument!

Screenshot’s amaze me! I love looking at other people’s screenshots, to see what their desktop is like and what programs they have installed. Its like a little insight into the persons life! So here is mine! I have the microsoft Zune theme installed [its free], getting Windows out of that default blueness, and my desktop background is from desktopography.net! How about you guys? Post a Screenshot in the format I have. Start menu open! Desktop visible! Its not only cool, but if you rant on like this. You can make a whole post about it!
Yes I was stuck for a post!

Today I thought I would do a bit of linkage on tutorials for Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Everyone seems to want them these days!
First up is TutorialStuff.com who have an amazing amount of tutorials for not only Photoshop and Dreamweaver. But Fireworks, Flash, 3DS Max, ASP, Java, PHP and amazingly Firefox and IE. Of course they have alot of Photoshop tutorials having 360! The tutorials are not in flash but do have pictures to show you what you should be doing! Worth checking out!
Next on the line is another amazing resource, MickM.com which I prefer personally over Tutorial stuff just because they have articles written better and they tend to be the more interesting things to do in your free time! Again tutorials are not in flash! Having around 150 tutorials though this website is not to be dismissed!
Lastly, the big daddy of them all! Tutorialized! This website has tutorials for more things than I can count let alone write down! Ranging from graphics programs like Photoshop and the GIMP, to Flash and Maya, to web design tutorials of CSS, PHP, ASP.. etc. etc. Heck these guys have tutorials in MySQL, C++, Linux and Windows! Alot of their tutorials are in flash, and other ones are graphic based!
That is it for today guys! If anyone uses any other Tutorial website let me know!

First things first! I want! You can purchase it over here! But isn’t this an amazing thing? Basically the blue bits are LEDS that will show the signal strength of a wireless network if you are close to one! I’m seriously getting one of these.. at some point when I can afford it! I’d walk around town all day just staring at my… t-shirt! And don’t get me started on how much of a laugh it would be at something like Podcamp! The minute the wireless network goes up your lighting up! Alerting everyone the Internet is on, without disturbing a person! Mmm.. Yes I have plans for this one!

Surprised to see that as a title I bet!
True I rarely write Mac News, only really liking the Mac Book Pro. Don’t get me started on iMacs! But we have three interesting pieces of news so here you are fanboys
Trillian will be coming to Mac soon! Of course it will be minimal compared to Trillian for Windows for a while, but still, nice to see something decide to go Mac! Read more here.
Here is another Apple fanboy! Has a whole room full of Macs, he puts all you other fanboys to shame!
The new iMacs apparently freeze alot. Didn’t the old ones too? Whats the big deal? Windows gets virus’s. Mac freezes for indefinite amounts of time. Linux is too complicated for the average user but perfect!
