Symphony
Symphony is a web publishing system made for web developers. It gives you all the power and flexibility you’ll need, while keeping out of your way. Of course it would want to be made for web developers, as the install is a bit of a bitch! Firstly, the way it wants file permissions is just a tad over the top! It wouldn’t install on my local server as I don’t have a required module, however on my Servage Hosting it installed without a bother, well.. That being me playing around with file permissions and getting insane error’s like so:

Symphony Error

Then eventually giving up and just setting everything to 777, which doesn’t make me feel too safe, but *shrug* I’m not going to be using it for blogging right now.

File Permissions

As a platform I can definitely see some potential in where it would be useful, its like a simpler version of Joomla, that has an Askimet plugin! :P  If you want to try it out there is a demo here. If you want to download it head over to its official website over here. Defiantly worth checking out for most developers / designers, would make a good, simple, CMS. If anyone is using Symphony I’d love to hear from you!
