aMSN is a free open source MSN Messenger clone. Which is as close to MSN on linux your going to get, it basically has everything, web cam support, Display Pictures, Custom Smileys,  Chat Logs, Conferencing and everything else you expect to have on MSN! It can be downloaded from its Project Page here. Its available for Windows and Mac too, why you’d want it who knows? If your running Ubuntu

sudo apt-get install amsn

Simple as that, sometimes you gotta love the simplicity of Ubuntu!
